About This Project

This collaborative project with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) focuses on the restoration of federally-listed threatened coral species in Puerto Rico. The partnership combines federal resources and expertise with local knowledge and implementation to address the critical decline of Acropora corals and other threatened species.

Through innovative culturing designs and careful monitoring, this project demonstrates successful approaches to coral propagation and restoration. The work includes development of new culturing techniques, measurement of fragment growth rates, and assessment of long-term colony survival and development.
